I welcome anyone who wishes to have help.

I look foward to meeting you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Trauma Based Coaching/Counseling?

Don't let the word trauma scare you and you don't have to have or have experienced trauma to work with me.

Being trauma based or working trauma informed simply means I have specialized training and certifications working with trauma and have an understanding on how past trauma (or traumatic events) can play a part in you moving over obsticles in life, achieving goals, overcoming stress and depression, managing PTSD and more.

I work with those who want to:

Reduce anxiety, manage depression, manage/overcome PTSD, experiencing grief or loss, have family or relationship struggles, looking at career changes and more.

What is your training? Do you have certifications?

Unlike a therapist, the type of coaching and counseling I practice does not require state licensure, because I am not diagnosing mental illness or prescribing medication like a therapist or psycologist.  However, as a coach, in order to be certified and/or credentialed, I was required to go through an in-depth training program and overseen client hours, to ensure I meet a certain standard.

For myself I hold the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in human services (how to work with individuals)
  • Education in Psycology and human development
  • Professional life coach certification through American Life Coach Academy
  • Professional life coach credentials with International coaching federation (ICF)
  • Also hold certifications in Mindfulness, Meditation and Restorative Yoga

For my Coaching certification and credentials I am required to have proper training and clinical hours, with some of my coaching sessions evaluated to ensure I meet a certain standard. At this time I have over 9,000 clinical hours and hundreds of happy, healthy, and satisfied clients.

In addition to the above I also hold the following:

  • Certifications in Trauma informed care and suicide prevention
  • Certified in Cognative Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Certification in mindfulness and meditation training.
  • Have specialized training in family systems, adolescents, cultural diversity, LGBTQ and have worked with individuals, small and large group sessions.

What happens during the sessions?
  • Assess: I get to know you through: assessment and working together.
  • Discover: Get to know yourself through: goal setting and planning, self-awareness, reflection, personal learning.
  • Implement: I help you make the changes with: action steps, feedback and practice, progress checkpoints and planning.
  • Transition: Make the change and make it stick with: accountability, planning and reflection.

In order for there to be success and the change that you want, you will be asked to work. I will be there by your side and offer assistance and guidance, but in order for progress to be made you will have to put in the work and be ready to do so.

How do consultations work?

Give my coaching a test drive.  One way to see if a coach is a good fit is to have a free consultation.

Consultations allow you to see if you are comfortable with the coach and for the coach to see what opportunities they can provide. It’s a time to see if you feel safe and comfortable.

I pride myself on offering a judgement free zone where we can work together in a safe environment. During our sessions I allow myself to be vulnerable and will not ask of you more than I wouldn’t ask of myself.

If at the end of our consultation you feel I am not a right fit for you, that’s okay, at the end of the day you are what matters and I want you to get the help you are looking for weather that is with me or not.  Your life coach can be an important ally to help you achieve your goals, make those big decisions and stay accountable to the things you want in your life.

At this time I offer mostly “online” coaching via zoom, skype or some other teleconference program.

How do I get started?

If you are still not sure, you can request a free consultation to outline what we can do for you.

If you're ready to start reaching your goals, we sill request that you fill out the free consultation form so we can get the process started, but you can also view our Coaching Packages to get a feel for what would work for you.
